SCHOOL POLICY FOR SACRED HEART EDUCATIONAL CENTER

INTRODUCTION: Thank you for choosing Sacred Heart Educational Center for your tutoring needs. It is our privilege to teach and work with your child. It is our sacred trust to teach our students well and to help them unlock the secrets of words and numbers. We do our best to make the tutoring session exciting, interesting, creative, and profitable. We ask you to read these policies to assure a smooth, safe, healthy, cohesive operation of the tutoring session. TEACHERS: There are ten teachers who will instruct students during a regular seasonal session. The teachers are academically qualified and capable of teaching their students. They are kind, compassionate, and sympathetic to the needs of their students. INSTRUCTION: Class sessions are one hour. The days and times are regulated by the needs of the students. A variety of courses is offered. Our curriculum is based on remedial techniques and resources. However, we are also able to reach out to those students who would like enrichment courses as well. REPORTS: At the end of a session a Final Grade Report will be mailed to the parents. At any time during the session if you would like to know your child’s progress, you may feel free to speak to the teacher. The teachers are always available. ATTENDANCE: We urge you to have your child attend every class, because daily attendance ensures quality understanding and mastery. We urge you to come on time about five minutes before your hour of instruction. If a teacher misses or cancels a class, the Learning Center will be responsible to make up the class. However, if you miss a class, it will not be the responsibility of the Learning Center to make up the class unless other arrangements have been made. The Learning Center is not responsible for tardies, since the teachers may have another student the next hour, and it would not be appropriate to keep the next student waiting. TRANSPORTATION: The Learning Center does not provide transportation. Arrival and departure from the Learning Center in a timely fashion is the responsibility of the parents. FINANCES: The tutoring session fee is $25.00 an hour. Payments may be made in advance or weekly. Checks may be made payable to Sister Mercedes. Receipts will be mailed to you at the end of each month. DRESS CODE: The dress code should be in good taste. Since this is a Catholic Christian institution, we ask that all students dress in a modest fashion when they come to their session. HEALTH: If your child is allergic and has medication that must be applied during the class, please inform us. Also, if your child has any illnesses that we should know about please let us know. We want to make sure of your child’s health and safety. CONCLUSION: Once again thank you for being interested in Sacred Heart Educational Center.
